Job Description

Monroe Christian School in San Manuel, AZ is looking for one remote medical assistant to join our team. We are located on 309 S A Ave #A. Our ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Communication: Communicate with patients via phone, email, or video calls to schedule appointments, answer questions, and provide follow-up instructions.
  • Medical Documentation: Accurately document patient information, medical histories, and treatment plans in electronic health records (EHR) systems.

 

  • Appointment Scheduling: Manage and coordinate patient appointments, including reminders and rescheduling as needed.
  • Insurance Coordination: Verify patient insurance eligibility, pre-authorizations, and billing information.
  • Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers by preparing virtual visit notes, documenting patient symptoms, and summarizing medical information for review.
  • Prescription Refills: Process requests for medication refills, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to pharmacies.

 

  • Patient Education: Provide patients with educational materials, instructions for medication, or preparation for diagnostic procedures.
  • Follow-Up Care: Track patient follow-ups, lab results, and referrals, ensuring timely communication with both patients and providers.
  • Compliance: Ensure all tasks are performed in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant medical and data protection standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with healthcare providers, office staff, and other remote team members to deliver seamless patient care.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Medical Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and common healthcare practices.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), telehealth platforms, and office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Customer Service: A patient-centered approach with strong empathy, professionalism, and the ability to handle sensitive situations.

 

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong accuracy in data entry, scheduling, and record-keeping.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a medical assistant, patient care coordinator, or in a related healthcare role is required.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a medical assistant training program or certification is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and telehealth regulations.
  • Experience working in a virtual healthcare setting.

 

  • Bilingual proficiency, depending on patient demographics, is a plus.
