As a Java DevOps Engineer at HSBC, you will be responsible for designing and developing applications in multiple technologies. You’ll work with the latest tools and frameworks, such as Kubernetes and Docker, to ensure the delivery of high-quality software. With exposure to containerization and orchestration, you’ll gain hands-on expertise in DevOps methodologies and contribute to the seamless integration of software development and operations.
4. End-to-End Ownership
In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to take end-to-end ownership of applications in the Equities Derivatives (EQD) domain. This responsibility will allow you to work closely with project managers, business analysts, and developers to understand technical and functional requirements. By collaborating with a global and diversified development team, you’ll drive projects, propose innovative solutions, and contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of applications and services.
Requirements for Success
To succeed as a Java DevOps Engineer at HSBC, it’s important to meet the following requirements:
Profound insights into Java internals, including class loading, memory management, concurrency, collections, microservices, and streams.
Excellent hands-on experience in containerization and orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
Expertise in common DevOps tools and methodologies, ensuring the smooth integration of software development and operations.
Strong programming skills in Oracle PL/SQL, along with experience in performance tuning and query optimization. Sound knowledge of functions, triggers, materialized views, database management, and schema design is essential.
Exposure to ReactJS would be an added advantage, although not mandatory.
