The role requires excellent interpersonal communication skills to maintain effective communication among staff members, leadership, and other healthcare professionals. This position is fully onsite, and candidates must be based in the greater Chicagoland area. As an Emergency Room Technician, you will assist and support the registered nursing staff in delivering high-quality patient care in the Mitchell and Comer emergency rooms. Responsibilities

  • Transporting patients throughout the hospital as needed.
  • Keeping supplies and linen at par levels in assigned areas.
  • Performing and maintaining point-of-care testing and EKG, including quality control and data transmission.
  • Assisting registered nurses with patient care as needed and/or requested, within the limits of the law and/or policy.
  • Sitting with medically or psychologically compromised patients.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment by preparing emergency department rooms for the next patient when necessary.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • N.A with phlebotomy certification or EKG experience, or A. with phlebotomy certification or EKG experience, or EMT-B or EMT-P.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support certification through The American Heart Association.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and perform a variety of patient assistance without direct supervision.
  • Ability to interact effectively with patients, clinical staff, and the general public.

Nice-to-haves

  • ED RN experience.
  • ACLS/PALS certification.
